We are dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through education and evangelism, transforming lives with the gospel and providing the resources needed for lasting, sustainable success.

WHO WE ARE

Founded as a leap of faith by Jay Seelan and Sarah Seelan in 2014, Masala Ministry began with a simple commitment: to serve the needs of their local community in South India with obedience and trust in Christ. From the beginning, the ministry has been deeply personal, no face is unknown, and every story matters. Today, Masala operates two churches that also function as community centers. Through these centers, children and youth receive free after-school tutoring and meals throughout the week, while young women are equipped with practical skills such as tailoring to help launch independent businesses. With the partnership of umbrella organization, Fuel Worldwide, and the support from generous hearts, Masala continues to walk alongside its neighbors, addressing spiritual and physical needs together, and equipping individuals and families with the tools to build a brighter future.

A NEW VENTURE

Giving Purpose Through Autos

Masala has recently added two new auto rickshaws to its ministry, driven by trusted local partners who faithful attend and serve in the church. Most of the profit goes directly to the drivers as income, while a portion is returned to the sponsoring church/center as tithe. These vehicles also provide safe, reliable transportation for our community to and from church. We hope to add more taxis in the future to help employ more deserving individuals.

RENEWED HOPE

Students Set Sights on Graduation

Masala’s after-school tutoring continues to support students in reaching new academic milestones. Currently, upper-grade students are preparing for important placement exams that could qualify them for college next year—many becoming the first in their families to do so. With focused instruction, mentorship, and consistent support, these students are gaining the skills and confidence needed to take the next steps toward higher education.

SEW IMPORTANT

Financial Freedom

This year, a new group of women has joined our tailoring program. Over the next few months, they will learn not only how to alter clothing but also to design their own pieces, which will prepare them to pursue work independently or with local manufacturers. With these skills, tailoring graduates move closer to financial independence, gaining the confidence and resources to strengthen their families and build a brighter more stable future.
